BDB Construction Enterprise completed a highly innovative student housing project carved out of a former Midtown Manhattan hotel, an example of a conversion model at the core of our expertise. The conversion of 650-room hotel into student apartments in 7 months presented significant challenges with retrofits of aging MEP systems and handling of a multitude of differing site conditions and varying lead itmes. Scope of work involved addition of kitchens in existing rooms which included considerable changes to the existing electrical and plumbing systems of the building in a short period of time. In addition, the façade of the building was restored to comply with local law 11.  The new residential offerings include attractive suites, a roof deck, study rooms, communal kitchens, a cheerful laundry facility as well as penthouse offices for the Owner’s management group.
